Web Page Design Module 3: Basic Design Principles |
||
Repetition is the concept of repeating a certain element that ties all the disparate parts together. Each page in the website should look like it belongs to the same web site. The navigation buttons are a repetitive element. Notice on each of the pages of this web site a navigation bar appears in the top right corner of the page and at the bottom of each page below the horizontal rule. The consistent placement of navigation bars not only unifies the web site, but a repetitive navigation system helps visitors become more comfortable in using your site.
Other items that can be repeated include a logo consistently placed, the background color of a page, the color scheme, repetitive headlines, the basic layout, and colors of links. Locate this assignment in your Google Classroom. Open a Google Doc and name all of the ways repetition has been applied in this web site. Select TURN IN when you have completed the assignment.
